PB score for Alex Vodermair and Exact at the World Young Horse Championships

The 2025 FEI WBFSH Dressage World Breeding Championship for Young Horses began with the First Qualification for 6-Year-Old Horses on Wednesday.

The Australian combination of Alexandra Vodermair and Exact achieved a PB score to place equal 15th among 40 of the world’s top six-year-old dressage horses as the FEI WBFSH Dressage World Breeding Championship for Young Horses began in Verden, Germany on Wednesday.

The pair achieved a score of 81%, with 8.7 for trot, 8.5 for perspective, 8 for canter, 8 for submission, and 7.3 for walk. Exact (Escamillo x Hohenstein) was bred by Thorsten Hogrefe and is owned by Alex.

The combination will now contest the Small Final for 6-Year-Old Horses on Thursday (start times below). Also on Thursday is the First Qualification for 5-Year-Old Horses, where Australian riders Tayla Desmet and Alicia Ryan are in action (start times below).

Danish off to a strong start

Danish mares claimed the top two places in the First Qualification for 6-Year-Old Horses.

First place went to Slangerupgaards Saffron (Secret x Scolari), ridden by Anne Troensegaard; this combination scored an impressive 92.2%, with highlights including a 9.7 for trot and 9.6 for perspective. The mare was bred and is owned by Slangerupgaards A/S.

Second place went to Brandtbjergs Divya (Hesselhoej Donkey Boy x Don Olymbrio L) for rider Anders Sjöbeck Hoeck on 92%. This mare was bred by Brandtbjerggaard/Fam.Buhl and is owned by Stutteri Søbakkehus.

Dutch horse Red Viper (Romanov Blue Hors x Sir Sinclair) was third on 90% for Dinja Van Liere. This KWPN stallion was bred by Coen Kerbert and is owned by Reesink Stallions.
