Day two of the Victorian Dressage Championships took place today at Werribee Park in sweltering heat, with the time table altered accordingly. Many of the classes ran early in the day, while the Grand Prix took place this evening.
Fiona Selby and Tacita were the winners of the Grand Prix class, scoring 67.536%. The pair scored as high as 70.761% from the judge at C. Second place went to Holly Cutler and Diva Royale on 67.355%, while this went to Gitte Donvig and Sancette on 65.290%.
The Intermediate B went to Don Duchovny, ridden by Fiona Guthrie to score 59.958%, while the runner up was Jess Hivon and Greenoaks Weltmann.
The Prix St Georges, as always, was hotly contested. The winner was Revelry R, ridden by Faye Hinchliffe, on a score of 71.569%. The pair were yesterday’s Advanced Champions, so a very consistent Championships thus far! The runner up was Baunehojens Diamond Dancer, ridden by Charlotte Pedersen, with a score of 69.608%. The Pony Prix St Georges went to Heritage Park Chartreuse and Amy Bachmann on 66.912%.
Big fields in the Novice classes produced a standout champion in Yarramee Fonzie, ridden by Justine Greer. The pair won the Novice 2.2 on 73.429% and the 2.3 on 79.138%. Reserve champion went to HV Duke and Fiona Guthrie, who’s had a very busy and successful championships thus far. The Pony Novice Championship was won by Roseglen Pop Art and Justine Greer, with the pair winning both test.
In the Para Equestrian classes, Joann Formosa and Worldwide PB were successful in the Grade II test on 70.005%; Kerrie Murnane and Shirley Heights Woodsman won the Grade III test on 63.677%; and Zoe Vorenas and Little Brave won the Grade IV test on 67.208%.
The 4 Year Old Young Horse class went to Bloomfield Fenric and Janet Seccull, with a score of 78.000%, while the runner up was Hollands Bend Danseur and Emmalee Weston on 75.000%. The 4 Year Old Young Pony was won by Elmore Park Perfect Timing, ridden by Faye Hinchliffe, on 75.200%, with Melliodora Nexus and Javais Ham finishing runner up on 69.400%.
