Second CDI3* win for Melissa Galloway at Sydney CDI

Friday brought more exciting dressage action to the Sydney International Equestrian Centre.
The CDI3* Grand Prix Special went to yesterday’s Grand Prix winners, Melissa Galloway and Windermere J’Obei. The pair scored 72.511% to finish ahead of fellow New Zealand combination Wendi Williamson and Don Vito MH on 67.128%. Sue Hearn was third with Eminent on 65.362%, with Rosanna Relton fourth with Redwood Desire on a PB of 65.255%, and Charlotte Phillips rounding out the top five with CP Dresden on 65.128%.
The CDN Inter B went to Mark Kiddle riding Penny Hill Park Sophia on 67.702%.
In the CDI1* Inter I, there was a reshuffling of the top three from the PSG, with Dave McKinnon and Boulevard scoring 70.647% to claim the win ahead of Brett Parbery and Iresias L on 69.824%, and Matthew Dowsley with Fribaldi in third on 68.853%.

Young horses and ponies
The 4YO Young Horse Final saw this year’s Dressage & Jumping With The Stars Champion of Champions, Selected, gain the win with a huge score of 90.6% for Elliot Patterson. Inseparable from Jazdan Formidable and Hannah Rockwell in the first round, the pair edged ahead today with Hannah settling for second on 85%. The 5YO Young Horse Final went to Glenhill Vivid on a score of 80.2% for Riley Alexander, while the 6YO Young Horse Final went to Emma Hayward riding Fleur de Cherie with a score of 79.6%. Franzisco RW won the 7YO Young Horse Final with a score of 77.94% for Johannes Holtzhausen.
The 4YO Young Pony Final went to Glenhill Mr Hollywood, ridden by pony extraordinaire Alison Gill to a score of 81.2%; the 5YO Young Pony Final went to Mr Right Now for Caitlyn Porter with 77%; and the 6YO Young Pony Final went to Andrew Buckley and Noble Dynasty on 76.4%.
Young riders
In the CDI Under 25 Grand Prix, Tanisha Ryan and Prequel claimed the win with 66.744%, while in the CDI Young Rider Individual Test, Jessica Dertell and Gladston MH won with a score of 68.922%. The CDI Junior Individual Test went to Angelina Thompson riding Enbarr with a PB score of 69.363%.
Para dressage Freestyle action
Further international para dressage competition took place today at SIEC, with combinations in the CPEDI3* classes in particular hoping to put scores on the board ahead of the Paris Paralympics.
Mietta Innes-Irons won the Grade V CPEDI3* FEI Para Grand Prix Freestyle with Schonherz on a PB of 67.1%. Noella Angel won the Grade V CPEDI1* FEI Para Novice Freestyle riding Jackabite to a PB score of 65.258%, as well as the Grade V CPEDI2* FEI Para Intermediate Freestyle with Mallee Jack on 56.883%.
The Grade IV CPEDI3* FEI Para Grand Prix Freestyle went to Kylie Christian and Bellaire Cannavaro on 72.65%, while the Grade IV CPEDI2* FEI Para Intermediate Freestyle went to Samantha Hawes and Gotico Park Estralo on a PB of 62.75%.
The Grade III CPEDI2* FEI Para Intermediate Freestyle went to Felicity Weal riding Bloomfield Shameless on 66.256%, a PB score.
Finally, Maddison Cooke posted a win in the Grade II CPEDI3* FEI Para Grand Prix Freestyle, scoring 66.722% aboard Byalee Magic II.
