Time continued to be a huge factor this afternoon at RB Sellars Cross Country Day for the Horseland CCI4*S, with only one combination going clear and under time.

That combination was last year’s winners and the leaders after the dressage phase, Shenae Lowings and 13-year-old Thoroughbred Bold Venture. The pair absolutely flew around the course today and certainly looked every bit the world-class combination. Shenae and Bold Venture now head into tomorrow’s show jumping phase on their dressage score of 27.8.

Second-quickest on course were Andrew Cooper and Pepper Jack with just 2.4 time penalties, a performance that saw them leap from seventh to second place on 39.6.

Oliver Barratt and Sandhills Special dropped from second to third with 11.6 time faults (42.1), while three-time Adelaide five-star winners Hazel Shannon and WillingaPark Clifford were fourth on 47.4 after also picking up 16 time faults – proving just how hard it was to make time today.

Rounding out the top five was Gemma O’Leary on Arnage Porsche with 10.8 time faults to finish on 48.2.

The final show jumping phase takes place Sunday.
