Simone Pearce wins CDI4* Grand Prix in Austria

Simone Pearce has won the CDI4* Grand Prix at CDI Stadl Paura (5-7 April) in Austria with her Tokyo Olympic partner, 17-year-old Hanoverian stallion Destano (Desperados x Bella Navonna, by Brentano II).

Simone and Destano scored 70.522% to finish at the top the rankings alongside Austrian rider Christian Schmach, who also posted 70.522% with Amplemento.

In the CDI4* Grand Prix Special, Simone and Destano finished fourth on 69.447%.

In the CDI3* Grand Prix, fellow Aussie Hayley Beresford finished seventh with the rising 10-year-old KWPN gelding Javino S (Davino V.O.D. x Flickacara, by Briljant) on 65.783% before scoring 67.553% for sixth in the CDI3* Grand Prix Special. In February, the pair scored 68.783% in the CDI3* Grand Prix in Italy at what was their international Big Tour debut. Hayley owns Javino in conjunction with Tanja Schlegel.

Simone and All We Need also contested the CDI3* Grand Prix but unfortunately retired from the test with the atmosphere proving a little too much. However, the pair regrouped and later went on to win the CDN Grand Prix. All We Need (All At Once x Friederike, by Fidermark) is a rising 10-year-old Rheinländer mare whom Simone has owned in conjunction with Silke Nicolaus-Krull since the end of last year.

“There were plenty of speed bumps, obstacles and highs and lows within the trip, but it was all a very valuable learning experiences and we are going home stronger for it! Looking forward to the next challenge!” said Simone following the event.
