Australian show jumper Thaisa Erwin has placed third in the $215,000 (USD) NetJets CSI4* Grand Prix (155cm) during Week 3 at Wellington International’s Winter Equestrian Festival (WEF) in Florida, USA.
The duo was one of eleven combinations to jump clear in Round 1 and make the jump-off, where they were again clear alongside seven others. Their blistering time of 41.28 seconds was enough to see them finish on the podium and earn a $32,250 slice of the prize pool.
Erwin and the 14-year-old Dutch-bred mare Hialita B (Emerald x Vaillant), who she owns in conjunction with Michael Smith, represented Australia at the 2024 Paris Olympic Games and have been very successful at the highest level in recent years.

In front of a home crowd, the USA’s Lillie Keenan and longtime partner Fasther, a 16-year-old Dutch Warmblood gelding (Vigo d’Arsouilles STX x Farmer), took the win with a time of 40.56 seconds around Canadian course designer Peter Grant’s jump-off track.
Irish Olympian Shane Sweetnam came the closest to Keenan’s time, narrowly missing the top spot with Spy Coast Farm’s Rural Juror SCF – a nine-year-old Danish Warmblood by Presley Boy – in a time of 40.87 seconds.
