A shorter Grand Prix test has been designed to increase audience engagement and make dressage more interesting to a wider audience number. The test, that was released on Wednesday will have its debut at the London International horse show, Olympia in December.

The test consists of 30 various movements which is performed over roughly five minutes compared to the Grand Prix test, which consists of 33 movements and is ridden over roughly five minutes and 45 seconds.

The music will be selected by a qualified musical director that will provide music to each horse and rider combination that reflects their personality and interests.

The new Grand Prix test will make its debut at Olympia horse show on Monday, December the 17th, with the Freestyle commencing on Tuesday, December the 18th.

The FEI Dressage World Cup Committee have agreed to run the test for a two year period in hope to increase audience engagement and strengthen the interest level in the sport.
