Australia’s World Equestrian Games gold medallist Boyd Exell is currently visiting Tamworth to conduct a driving clinic as a prelude to this year’s Tamworth International Horse Driving Trials (FEI and national classes).
The four-day clinic is already underway and runs from 2-5 October at the Australian Equine & Livestock Events Centre (AELEC). The clinic is part of a weeklong program run by the Horse Driving Trials Club (HDTC).
It will be the fifth time HDTC have hosted Boyd Exell in the lead up to their FEI event. Drivers from as young as eight will attend from across the country to have lessons with the seven time FEI World Cup Driving Champion and three time WEG gold medallist. Many attendees will then stay for the competition.
The driving event will run side by side with the North & North West Show Jumping Club Indoor Championships Tour and World Cup Qualifier, which gets underway on Thursday (October 4) and runs through to Sunday. The World Cup class will be on October 6 and see the country’s top level showjumpers in action.
