Wendi Williamson & Don Vito MH claim CDI3* Grand Prix Special in Sydney

The Sydney CDI continued on Friday, where the CDI3* Grand Prix Special saw another win for New Zealand’s Wendi Williamson and gelding Don Vito MH. The pair achieved a score of 72.149% today, to finish just ahead of David McKinnon and Forlan on 71.362%, repeating the placings from yesterday’s Grand Prix. Third place in the Special went to Charlotte Phillips and CP Dresden on 66.766%.

The CDN Grand Prix Freestyle went to Clairy Plenty and Queensland on 69.970%, while the CDN Inter B was won by Victoria Luxford and Revelwood Animation on 69.459%

In the Small Tour, Matthew Dowsley continued to dominate with first and second place in the CDI1* Inter I. TS Firestorm scored 71.647%, while Fribaldi was awarded 70.794%. It was a class for the Matthews, with Matthew Lord and Remi Vigneron taking out third on a PB of 70.088%. Impressive scores all round!

The CDN Inter I went to Susan Elekessy and Callum Park Damascus on 71.030%, while Alison Gill was the runner-up with pony Seawynd Colorado on 70%. Like yesterday, there was more than one success story today for Alison…

Young horses and ponies

Alison also took out all three of the young pony classes once again as round two got underway today. Paired with Glenhill Divine Classic, Alison took out the top spot of the 4YO Young Dressage Pony with a score of 78%. In the 5YO Young Dressage Pony, Glenhill Mr Hollywood produced a score of 78% to win, and then partnering with Miss Moneypenny PP to score 76.2%, Alison also secured the 6YO Young Dressage Pony.

Round 2 of the Young Dressage Horse classes took place today, with Matthew Lord taking out both first and second in the 4YO Young Dressage Horse – first with Remi Bodacious on a score of 81.6%, and second with Remi Vintage Star with 78.8%. Jordan Evans and Fradankar Park Totil Gold finished third close behind with 76.4%.

First in the 5YO Young Dressage Horse went to Robert Harrisson Schmerglatt and TS Soulmate. The duo produced a score of 81.4%, followed by second place holder Alexandra Vodermair and Exact with 78.6%, and third place going to Stuart Archibald with Vixen Storm on 77.8%.

With a score of 81%, Olivia Gillespie and Nottingham GP took out top spot in the 6YO Young Dressage Horse, with Brett Parbery and Cooramin Despacito placing second with 80.8%. Third went to Riley Alexander and Glenhill Vivid who scored 80.4%.

Samantha Sidwell and Asgards Indico finished on 73.186% in the 7YO Young Dressage Horse to claim the win. Gordon Pratt and Aberdare MI followed on 70.975% to place second, with third going to Anne Nelson and Rosevale Ballroom Blitz on 69.607%.

Young riders

In the CDI-U25 Grand Prix Tanisha Ryan and Prequel scored 65.795% to win narrowly over Maddison Vallender and Ronan R on 65.564%. Amy Bachmann and SWS Debutante were a close third on a PB of 64.897%.

Hannah Rockwell claimed victory in the CDI-Y Individual Test with a score of 69.265%, partnered with Baumann’s Diorella. Olivia Gillespie and Amsterdam were close behind on 67.843%, followed by William Bates and ex-eventer Adelaide Hill in third on 60.539%.

The CDI-J Individual Test ended with Maddison Vallender and Rubinell claiming another win with a score of 69.314%. Second went to Angelina Thompson on Arnage Royal Edition on 67.794%, and third to Emma Hutchinson with Freshman R, which saw her set a new PB with 66.716%.

Marley Yates and Mr Buck Meister scored 66.809% to win the CDN Pony Team Competition.

In other classes, the consolation EA Novice 2.2 went to Jessica Callus and Aber Dior MI on 65.938%, while the Consolation EA Elementary 3.2 was won by Rebecca Rooke and Anaki Park Qristal on 66.813%.
